Wolves close in on their second signing of the summer as a Dutch defender appears on their radar.

Wolves have enquired about the signing of Feyenoord defender Thomas Beelen according to reports in the Netherlands.

According to 1908.NL, no official approach has been made to the Dutch side but Beelen’s representatives have been contacted.  The outlet reported that Wolves would have to offer at least £17m to make Feyenoord consider selling Beelen.

The 23-year-old has just come off his debut campaign at the De Kuip after joining from PEC Zwolle for €2.70m last summer. He appeared in 26 matches in all competitions, including an appearance against Celtic in the Champions League and a Round of 16 double-header against AS Roma.

Beelen ranked eighth among with the centre-backs with the highest percentage of accurate passes in the top eight European leagues. He boasted a pass completion rate of 93.2% which highlights how comfortable he is on the ball.

The Dutch centre-back is under contract until the summer of 2027 but amid interest from Wolves, Feyenoord are now considering extending his contract.

Wolves made their first signing of the summer last week, signing Rodrigo Gomes from Braga for €15million, but might need to sell some of their big-name players if they are to make any more major moves in the transfer market. Pedro Neto is the most likely to leave out of their marquee players.

West Ham have a continued interest in Max Kilman with former Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui keen on the player. An asking price of £45m has been set which is likely to put them off. Kilman is Wolves' club captain and was ever-present in the Premier League last term.

In other news, Brazil-based journalist Felipe Luna has claimed that Pedro Lima has chosen Wolves over Chelsea and Manchester City. Scouts were in attendance to watch Lima and met with the player and his representatives just two days after watching him. The prospect of playing regular first-team football at the 2026 World Cup was something that attracted the player to Molineux. Chelsea like Man City would have considered loaning Lima out to one of their affiliate clubs.

It is going to cost Wolves £8.5m to sign the teenager defender from Brazilian second-tier club Sport Recife. The deal is expected to go through when the player turns 18 on July 1. He will arrive on a five-year contract with the option of a further year.
