Fixture release day is a time where supporters can get excited for what the next nine months have in store. There is a change to how things will work this year as the EFL and Sky Sports have confirmed that television picks will be finalised by July, which allows for supporters to plan their journeys more accordingly.

Sky Sports usually had six weeks to notify the EFL of their decisions for what matches they would like to broadcast but now they will have to decide in advance. Television picks will run all the way up to the third round of the FA Cup which is due to be played at the start of January.

The new TV deal is worth £935m over five-years and that means more games than ever will be shown. All Championship, League One and League Two opening weekend matches will be shown on television or Sky Sports' new Sky Sports + platform. It means that if you're not at the Hawthorns or where the Baggies are scheduled to be playing you will be able to watch the match in the comfort of your own home.

Other days in the calendar to look out for include games such as Boxing Day and New Year's Day matches as well as local matches. The closest game for WBA this season is Coventry City which is a 55.2 mile round-trip but that isn’t considered a derby match.

In the mean time, West Brom fans will just have to continue watching EURO 2024 as they wait for the fixtures. They will be hoping to see their side go one better next year after losing to Southampton in the play-offs.

First-team players such as Nathaniel Chalobah, Martin Kelly, Yann M'Vila, Matt Phillips, Erik Pieters and Adam Reach have all departed and they are yet to be replaced. Carlos Corberan will use hope that the funds freed up from their wages will be invested back in to the squad where he can bring in his own players. West Brom's pre-season fixtures announced so far are games against Cambridge United (August 2) and Birmingham City on August 3.
