A return to South London looks to be on the cards for a former Birmingham City striker.

Former Birmingham City striker Lyle Taylor could return to one of his former clubs this summer.

The 34-year-old was released by Cambridge United - managed by former Blues boss Garry Monk - and a return to the Dons looks to be on the cards. Taylor is said to be 'keen' on a return to Plough Lane according to the South London Press.

Taylor was at Wimbledon from 2015 to 2018 and scored 55 goals in 150 games across League One and League Two. He left to join Charlton Athletic on a free transfer in 2018 and netted 36 goals for the Addicks in 67 games which earned him a transfer to Nottingham Forest.

The 16-time Montserrat international featured for Forest in the Championship, playing for them in the first half of a campaign that saw them promoted to the Premier League, but was then shipped out on loan to Birmingham City. Taylor was a popular figure at St Andrew's, scoring five times in 14 games as the club avoided relegation by finishing 10 points above the relegation zone.

He returned to Nottingham Forest but failed to make an appearance for the entirety of the 2023/23 season. Taylor didn't join a club until November 2023 following his release from Forest, but played nine games there without scoring a goal and then moved on to Cambridge, netting three times in 14 games.
