West Brom could be trying to bring a former loanee to the club, as Millwall target a Hull player.

Euro 2024 is well underway - last night, we saw Spain defeat Albania by a score of 1-0 to continue their 100% winning record at the tournament as Italy secured their spot in the last 16 with a dramatic late goal against Croatia. Let’s take a quick break from that - here is everything that is circulating in the Championship rumour mill on this day.

West Bromwich Albion said to be keen to bring back a player who they had on loan last season on a permanent basis in the summer. Despite this, he will not come cheap - his asking price of £6 million could prove to be a major obstacle for the Baggies in their quest to bring him on board.

Meanwhile, Millwall are interested in signing a player who currently plies his trade for Hull City. The Tigers are ‘likely’ to let him go in the ongoing transfer window - he is still under contract, however, meaning the Lions will need to pay a fee to secure his services.

West Bromwich Albion target Mikey Johnston reunion

Mikey Johnston was a revelation at The Hawthorns last season when he joined the club on loan from Celtic - now, with the 2023/24 season in the dust, West Brom are said to be looking to bring the 11-cap Republic of Ireland international back permanently. Celtic are supposedly open to letting him go, which would open the door for the West Midlands outfit.

According to a report from Football League World, the Baggies are looking to snap Johnston up in the transfer window - however, his £6 million price tag, as set by Celtic, could prove to be an issue. Nevertheless, West Brom appear to be unopposed in their interest of the player - he has not been linked with any other high-profile clubs to date.

Under the stewardship of Shilen Patel, who took over at the club earlier in the year, he thinks it could be difficult to ‘operate within the league’s financial rules’. If they cannot financially justify a move for Johnston, it is probable that West Brom will move on to more affordable targets.

Hull City ‘likely’ to sell Ryan Longman in the summer as Millwall lurk

Hull City are ‘likely’ to sell adaptable attacking player Ryan Longman in the summer, after he spent a season on loan at Millwall. The Lions are thought to be ‘interested’ in exercising the option of signing him permanently, according to a recent report from The72.

Longman has reportedly fallen out of favour ‘permanently’ at the KC Stadium - it seems his time in East Yorkshire has come to an end. Nevertheless, Hull’s loss could by Millwall’s gain - previously, Longman has played for the likes of Brighton and AFC Wimbledon over the course of his professional career.

Longman enjoyed a respectable season at the New Den in the previous campaign - he made 35 league appearances, scoring three goals and registering as many assists along the way. Currently, it is unclear as to how much Millwall will be required to pay Hull to snap him up on a permanent basis.
