West Brom's stunning £43m squad value after increase compared to Leeds United, Sunderland, Sheffield United and rivals

The summer transfer window has now officially opened and squad values across the Championship are soaring as a result.

Some of the English second tier’s most expensive players have now departed where the grass is greener following promotions to the Premier League. The teams relegated have replaced many of those, however, gifting the Championship hods of big-name assets.

There are already so many talented players in the division as it is, even without those from Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United. Inter-division deals are bound to take place during the transfer window, while lesser-known stars from abroad could also arrive in through the door.

It’s unlikely to be too active of a window this time around as several teams are walking a tightrope with Financial Fair Play (FFP). There will still be activity, though, with many clubs needing to improve their squads to bolster their chances of achieving certain objectives.

West Brom hit their target last season by finishing in the top six but Southampton proved too strong in the play-offs, condemning the Baggies to another season in the Championship. Nonetheless, Albion’s squad as a whole has moved well up the ranks compared to other sides in the division when it comes to total transfer value.

But which clubs in the Championship have the highest, where do West Brom lie, and who are the most expensive assets from every team? From first to last, here’s a full run-through, as per figures from Transfermarkt.
