West Brom's Championship rivals aren't budging on one of their respected coaches.

Former Aston Villa and West Brom coach Aaron Danks' move to German giants Bayern Munich is at risk of falling through.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany was appointed manager of the 23-time Bundesliga winners last week and he is in the process of assembling his coaching staff. Former Man City and West Ham winger Craig Bellamy hasn't joined him and has instead remained at Turf Moor, where he is being considered for the top job.

Multiple reports claimed that Aaron Danks was someone that Kompany wanted to bring with him to Germany after the pair worked together at Anderlecht. Danks is currently working as an assistant manager to Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough, and now the Teesside club's stance on the 43-year-old has emerged.

Bayern Munich and Middlesbrough are reportedly in disagreement over a compensation package according to Telegraph journalist John Percy. Boro want compensation but Bayern are unwilling to meet their figure at this current stage.

Last week, Middlesbrough's sporting director Kieran Scott said: "As far as I can see, I think there will be an approach from Bayern for Aaron. That will then be down to him to make the decision for what he wants to do. We're not queueing up to lose Aaron, obviously. We rate him highly and we like him at the club.

"But Bayern is one of the biggest football clubs in the world. I'm sure if they come in with concrete interest, Aaron will have a really difficult decision to make. From our perspective though, he's not someone we're queueing up to let go. It's an if [he goes] for now, until anything official is sent and agreed. At the moment I can say that's not the case, but at the same time, there is clearly an interest."

Birmingham-born Danks has held roles at West Brom as a youth coach, as well as taking the reins of Aston Villa's frist-team. He assisted Dean Smith and was kept on by Steven Gerrard, and when the Liverpool legend was sacked, Danks managed Villa on a caretaker basis, holding down the fort whilst Unai Emery's work permit issues were rectified.

He was offered the chance to remain at Villa Park but departed just over a month after Emery was appointed and has been Middlesbrough's first-team coach for the last 18 months.
