New Premier League table without VAR: where Aston Villa, Wolves, Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Man City sit

What the Premier League table would look like without VAR

Colombian forward Jhon Duran came off the bench to score a late double in an incredible 3-3 draw between Aston Villa and Liverpool on Monday, in a game which had everything from last minute goals to contentious refereeing decisions.

The point all but secures Villa’s return to the Champions League after a long hiatus, but Unai Emery’s men may well have signed off their final home game with a victory if it wasn’t for VAR ruling out Ollie Watkins’ strike for offside. Liverpool’s second goal was also subject to a thorough check but was awarded after Joe Gomez was confirmed as onside before setting up Cody Gakpo.

The introduction of video technology has divided opinion with many football experts over the season with many including Wolves boss Gary O’Neil airing their opinions about whether it should have a place in the modern game. With that in mind we take a look at how the Premier League table would look this season if we were to live in a world without VAR.
