Mehdi Bahi is the Operations Manager of MTS which provides luxury transportation - including for the city’s footballers

Here in the UK's second city many shakers and movers from across the world travel to do business.

Like the rest of us they need to get from A to B, but often choose more glamorous means than buying a daysaver, and providing this service happens to be fairly lucrative.

He told BirminghamWorld: “I am originally from Tunisia. I moved into the UK about 17 years ago. I've set up this business around six, seven years ago. We provide luxury transportation as well as executive travel and airport transfers. We are, like you say, the business class.”

From humble beginnings, this business has thrived as demand increases for Chaffeur services - with many high profile people opting for it as a form of transportation.

Mehdi said: “We had the honour to drive various footballers from Aston Villa and Birmingham City Football Club. We also had the pleasure to drive the owner, who is one of our loyal clients.

“We drove a lot of people from various backgrounds, especially investors that come into the Midland to look at sites and investments and go around.”

The Commonwealth Games drew much attention to Birmingham, providing the catalyst for a lot of economic activity. Many wealthy investors now see the region as an attractive option for doing business.

Mehdi added: “We had the pleasure to transport and be the official transporter for the International Cricket Council and for their yearly conference, which they have done during the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. So the need for luxury transportation is really growing.

“You need to be offering the exact service that this clientele wants. This kind of business is mostly popular in London, but we have managed to create it in the Midland and survive as well as grow in the meantime.”
