We take a look at a real life drama unfolding in a village just outside Birmingham which has been the influence behind one of the BBC’s longest running dramas

In the idyllic village of Inkberrow, Worcestershire - the inspiration for the radio soap drama The Archers - residents are growing increasingly frustrated with the noise and disruption caused by their local football club.

Inkberrow FC, which runs around 30 teams, has applied for planning permission to expand their facilities. However, many locals argue that the expansion would ruin the tranquility of the village as well as cause further traffic problems and as such have objected to the plans.

The club's proposed expansion includes the construction of two new stands. Supporters of the club argue that it is a fantastic meeting place for the community and provides safe facilities. The application is currently under consultation until May 17th, and interested parties can submit their comments on the council's website.
