A number of criminals were sent to jail last month (April 2024) for a range of offences.
We’ve decided to do a round-up of the criminals in and around Birmingham who have been sent down in April.
We have included the names of the people jailed, with details about the offences committed.
1. Shakeel Khan: sentenced to 10 years in prison
On April 10, Khan, 29, of Tile Cross Road, Birmingham pleaded guilty after running the ‘Jay line’, which supplied cocaine and cannabis, He was sentenced to 10 years in prison on 10 April.
2. Wasim Akeel: jailed for 45 months
Akeel was jailed for over three years for possession of a firearm following a disorder in Alum Rock, Birmingham, in July, 2023. He was sentenced to 45 months in prison at Birmingham Crown Court on 18 April after pleading guilty.
3. Remi Gordon and Kami Carpenter: Jailed for the murder of Cody Fisher
Remi Gordon and Kami Carpenter were jailed at the start of April for the murder of Cody Fisher. Cody was stabbed and killed in The Crane Nightclub in Digbeth on Boxing Day 2022. Both were given life sentences for the murder of Cody. Remy Gordon was given a life sentence, and ordered to serve at least 26 years behind bars. Kami Carpenter was also given a life sentence, and told to spend at least 25 years behind bars.
4. Aaron Harvey: Jailed for 18 years
Aaron Harvey, from Rugeley, Staffordshire, was jailed for 18 years for rape. He groomed the girl over a period of two years. At Wolverhampton Crown Court on April 26 Harvey, 35, was jailed for 18 years and handed a sexual harm prevention order as well as a restraining order
