The Airport has confirmed that the aircraft has now landed safely in Birmingham and all passengers and crew have disembarked. A spokesperson for the airport said all passengers should continue to make their way to the airport today, which has not closed to the public.

Birmingham International remains open with services still running, although a number of trains from Birmingham International train station have been affected due to the security issues at the airport, with two being cancelled this evening. Sisruption is expected until around 7.30pm this evening, according to Network Rail.

Both the 6.20pm and 6.34pm trains from Birmingham International to Birmingham New Street have been cancelled, and passengers travelling through the airport station are advised to check their journeys this evening.

A Birmingham Airport spokesperson said: “Birmingham Airport has temporarily suspended operations due to a security incident on an aircraft.

“The aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew have disembarked. All customers due to travel should make their way to the airport and check in as normal.”
